Our fabulous mentors have a wealth of experience from a range of industries and professional backgrounds. Thanks to our awesome partners we are able to offer one-to-one and in-depth investor readiness mentoring to female founders. 

Who they are


Elizabeth Pirrie

Elizabeth Pirrie is CEO of AccelerateHER.  Elizabeth brings with her over 20 years of accounting experience including 10 as Finance Director of what was one of Scotland’s largest, independent care home providers. For the past six years she has worked in economic development in Scotland supporting start up and growing companies across several sectors including life sciences, technology and tourism.

Jackie Waring 

Jackie is a pioneer of women angels 'changing the face of investing', bringing more women angels into Scotland's dynamic angel investment community. An active and experienced angel investor herself, she established Scotland's all-female angel group Investing Women Angels whose members have invested over 80% of their funds in highly innovative female-founded companies. Jackie is an entrepreneur with a passion for helping other entrepreneurs. It was this passion that inspired her to establish AccelerateHER, creating a channel and direct help for female founders going for scale. Publicly recognised by Scotland's First Minister, she is a major player in shaping the ScotCanDo eco-system.



Rhona Campbell

Rhona is an expert in global product management and product marketing, with over 20 years' experience working with SME's and multinational technology companies at a senior level to achieve growth and success in global markets. Her practical know-how has helped companies to commercialise and launch new products, enter new markets as well as develop and implement international product and marketing strategies. Rhona set up her own consultancy, Rhona Campbell Associates, working with start-up and investor-funded technology companies to assess commercial strategy/ roadmap and take leading-edge technology to market. 


Elaine Galston


Elaine is a passionate advocate for creative innovation and start-ups, especially female and STEM based companies. She is currently driving forward her own start up company focused on creating an infrastructure for reusable sanitary wear and normalising and destigmatising incontinence and periods.
Elaine is actively involved with the AccelerateHER programme helping female founded companies with their pitching and business rationales. She is a very proud and active member of the female Angel group, Investing Women Angels through whom Barclays Bank and Scottish Enterprise support her to mentor females with high potential and advise on financial strategies. 



Tricia Bey


Tricia has an Engineering Science degree from Durham University and an MBA from The London Business School. In her early career Tricia worked in the pre-internet world of patent information. She then spent 14 years with Deloitte Consulting building and leading different practice areas including two years as the Managing Partner of the Dutch consulting practice. She was later Managing Director of a London-based management development school.
Tricia subsequently set up her own Ayrshire-based award-winning cheese making business and is a member of Investing Women Angels.





Catherine Muirden


Catherine is a leader in Human Resources. She’s a former HR Director at Barclays, has led the people function during the rescue and re-building of the Co-op, and most recently was People Transformation Director of the John Lewis Partnership. She’s an experienced mentor and coach, Non-Executive Director and Chair. She has a long history of championing and developing women leaders, and she’s known for connecting people within her wide business network.


Dr Jen Jenkins


Jen specialises in empowering her clients to live a psychologically informed life that enables them to thrive.
Jen's work as a consultant has been built by combining her academic background in Psychology with over ten years' experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries culminating in roles as International Director in the areas of Commercial Operations and Learning & Development.
As a consultant for the last eleven years, Jen has worked with CEOs and senior leadership teams across a wide variety of sectors including, financial and professional services, pharmaceutical, biotech, oil & gas, food & drink, luxury brands, travel, business consultancies and higher education. 

Jennifer Nicoll


Jen is an experienced finance and operational executive with over 30 years’ experience working with professional service firms (PwC & EY), global & boutique financial services companies, in the UK and internationally. She has a track record in establishing new operations & delivering process change in challenging business environments and has been involved in a range of corporate finance activity.

In recent years, Jen has focussed on providing support to early stage or growing businesses within the enterprise ecosystem, including helping business understand and manage the commercial impact and investment requirements of their activity. She has also helped founders establish and implement a practical delivery plan for their business.

Jen has engaged in this from a range of perspectives – public sector (Highlands & Islands Enterprise), angel investor and mentor with Investing Women Angels. She has also operated at the coal face as CFO/executive director of an early-stage high growth company to deliver fibre broadband to rural communities across Scotland. This has involved several significant private and institutional fundraises.



Pamela Barclay


Pamela is an entrepreneurial brand builder, product developer and business leader who has worked in retail brands of varied scale for 20 years. She was instrumental in leading the growth success of global sportwear brand Endura as Director/Co-Owner through to exit in 2016 to Pentland Brands. Her responsibilities combined design, marketing, international sourcing and commercial negotiation. An early pioneer of sustainability, she now applies that philosophy to ventures in the property sector as well as the charity Endura Lifecycle Trust which she co-founded, delivering thousands of mountainbike sessions to vulnerable groups each year.

Frances Hudson


Frances is an investment professional whose forethought and foresight is informed by insatiable curiosity and 35 years' experience. From stockbroking to macro and market analysis and consultancy, latterly global strategist and thought leader in multi-asset context on themes that run across asset classes and markets. Managed diversified portfolios (bond, cash, equity, hedge funds and private assets).

Areas considered include (but not limited to) ESG, energy, commodities, disruptive technologies, AI - genetic algorithms and neural networks, cyber, growth, demographics, healthcare, market structures, regulation and behavioural finance and economics.

Gill Scott


Gill is a highly experienced leader, known for creating an environment where people can be at their very best. Having retired from her role as Chief People Officer in Aegon UK, she is now enjoying a non-executive and consultancy portfolio, including Chair of Foursquare, a charitable organisation with a critical mission to prevent homelessness and promote inclusion, and Chair of the Scottish HR Leadership Group Operations Board. Gill's consultancy work includes supporting leaders through business and personal transformation.
